The friendly folks at the San Diego chapter of Americans for Safe Access invited me to document their annual party to celebrate 19 years of patients’ legal access
to medical marijuana since the passing of the California Compassionate Use Act, also known as Proposition 215. The party was at the Seedless Clothing compound in Ocean Beach on 2/15/15 and started at 2:15 🙂
There were dogs, bros, hippies, hipsters, hip hop fans, people both young and old, some with canes, some in wheelchairs… all mellow and peaceful, there for a good time. Discretion was key here – some people did not want to be photographed, so I politely moved on to the more carefree or brave souls who weren’t hiding. Activists, growers, dispensaries, and makers of tasty treats brought their best to sample and sell. The long 8+ hour event featured entertainment from the Nug Life Radio Show as well as several comedians and musical performers. The only person missing was comedian Doug Benson!
Here are some of the day’s photos. Find the rest on my Facebook page.

He didn't make anything feel forced or staged. I am really, really happy with the pictures he took because they came out looking very natural.
Brendan was so personable and easy going while maintaining the utmost professionalism, which was a nice change from photographers I've worked with in the past.
I would recommend working with Brendan if you want to feel comfortable and want professional, amazing images.
