12th Annual Mustache Bash

Last weekend San Diego experienced the funkiest concert festival of the year, the Mustache Bash. Now in its 12th year the crowd was peaking at 2,500 attendees. I have been the only official event photographer for five years. And let me tell ya, it’s been a wild ride!

The Mustache Bash is like a music festival meets fashion show as partygoers dress to the 9’s in colorful threads combining disco and 1970’s hippy and rocker vibes. Most gentlemen sport a real mustache, while some ladies bring faux follicles.

Not only do I capture the excitement of the event, I also participate in it. Why wear standard “photographer black” when you can channel your inner Kool & the Gang and get away with bell bottoms, gold chains and an afro? Not to mention the mustache 🙂

Between shooting the bands and DJs, I roam the crowd in search of fun fashions and even funner people. Of the hundreds of marketing-worthy photos, here are some of my favorites from the 2019 Mustache Bash.
